CamRoulette.com sold for $151,000 to who?

So it looks like CamRoulette.com finally changed hands the other day. I thought it would be either Xedoc Holdings or National A-1 who would become the new owners, but that may not be the case… Whois privacy makes it difficult to tell so we won’t be playing the guessing game.

Whoever is the new owner, congrats, and it will be interesting to see what they do with this domain. So far, it is simply parked. We know the domain was getting around 700 visitors per day and making some $15 from PPC ads. Surely it can be put to better use, especially when you drop 6 figures!

In a recent interview with the NY Times, the 17 year old creator of ChatRoulette.com disclosed some interesting stats… February saw around 30 million visitors to the site. Every day there are 1 million new visitors coming through. Now that is pretty damn impressive, don’t you think? :)

But what’s even more impressive is that the young Russian created the ChatRoulette.com site by himself within three days, in his bedroom on an old computer. It’s a nice interview worth checking out over at http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/03/12/one-on-one-andrey-ternovskiy-creator-of-chatroulette/

Big congrats to Adam Strong who took a gamble and purchased the domain CamRoulette.com for $1,400 in February of 2010… Got it sold for 100x exactly a month later. Who doesn’t love to hear about a good domain flip like that? Amazing!

From a ROI standpoint, best I ever did was win an auction for a 2 keyword .net domain that dropped for a little over $3k back in the day and I sold it in private a few month’s later for 6 figures as it was a huge well established site in it’s previous lifetime… Traffic was massive and conversions were excellent. What about you?
