Domain Madness 2 Auction
Mike Fiol and Adam Strong of DomainConsultant.com organized and auctioned off approximately 76 domains of which quite a few sold. The big news was CamRoulette.com, a hand registered domain selling for six figures. Nice flip!
Craig Snyder registered the domain on December 12, 2009… Almost one full month in advance before the term “cam roulette” started getting any searches or action as can be seen by the Google Trends.
According to whois records, Adam Strong acquired this domain from the original owner approximately one month ago. The price paid for it was $x,xxx, only a fraction of the staggering amount two determined bidders pushed this domain to close at after many extensions and going into overtime.
It was advertised that this domain is currently getting around 700 visitors per day on average and making $10 – $15 parked. Obviously the type-in traffic will continue to increase for a while, but the big question is… Was it a good buy at $151,000?
A bit too much if you ask me, but I think I already know who got it… Not too many will risk so much on this types of domains. Probably the same fella who not so long ago purchased Webcam.com for $1,000,000 and owns one of the best adult portfolio’s in the world. We’ll see if I was right when the WHOIS updates once again.
