To be #2 for the keyword “Cams” on the #2 search engine also known as Yahoo? Don’t answer. Let me just tell you… So about a year ago I was contacted by the guys who own this killer domain, Cams.net, amongst a few other nice adult related domains… They inquired about domain mass development and search engine optimization services to be exact.

So my guys went ahead and developed an on-topic “Cams” network for Cams.net and as of late it looks like this domain has secured the #2 spot over at Yahoo for good. That is great news. The keyword is one of the most competitive and desired ones that there is in this lucrative niche. Heck, any short 3, 4 or 5 character adult keyword such as sex, porn, etc… Always is. But having the exact match keyword domain gave us a huge advantage and a boost to the top.

So for less than $100/site we were able to properly develop and optimize a network of some 20 cam related domains, including Cams.net. This on-topic sex cams network’s secondary purpose was to boost the SEO profile of their other existing co-brand site, Cam2Cam.com which it looks like it definitely did as the site ranks across all search engines for the targeted keywords… The entire setup is integrated with Cams.com which is one of my all-time favorite affiliate programs out there when it comes to Cams. It’s good stuff…. So, mission accomplished

Sure, it took a while for all the pieces of the puzzle to fall into place but domain development is a long term play. Always has been and always will be. Nothing ever happens overnight anymore. We’re not in 1999, silly. We are halfway into 2010 and things are competitive as hell just about everywhere you go nowadays, but so long as you have the right keyword domains backing you, proper development / content in place and at least some of the most basic SEO strategies deployed… It’s only a matter of time before things take off and you make a nice ROI.
